This foundational course teaches the biases and behavioral risks that weaken fraud prevention systems and explains why collaboration and critical thinking are essential to mitigating them. Identifying, analyzing and adapting to the digital threat landscape is complex, since at its core it's geared towards the manipulation of human psychology. While AI has produced effective fingerprinting results and automation capabilities, it is unable to mitigate social engineering. Contrary to common belief, social engineering isn't an exclusive cyber attack technique. It's the act of manipulating someone into doing something, and it happens daily in nearly every aspect of life. This same manipulation is what underlies most scams, cyber attacks and identity theft, which is why no amount of automation can neutralize an approach aimed at human judgment, where behavior is irrational and can change in an instant.
