About the Course In this course on Konnakol, students will learn the basics of vocal percussion through learning videos, exercises, online activities, and more. Delivered by Akshay Anantapadmanabhan, a leading percussionist in India and abroad, this course is designed for beginners and anyone looking to build a foundation in Carnatic percussion. About the Instructor Akshay Anantapadmanabhan is a leading Carnatic percussionist, mridangam player, and researcher. He has collaborated with some of the top artists in the Carnatic music community, and published international publications on the mridangam, konnakol and the kanjira. In his course, he takes learners through the fundamentals of Konnakol (Carnatic vocal percussion). About SaPa Led by singer-songwriter Bindu Subramaniam and violinist Ambi Subramaniam, SaPa - Subramaniam Academy of Performing Arts - takes in learners as young as three years old and helps them fall in love with music.
