Descripción
Game design is not a single creative act—it is a structured process, driven by clear methods and purposeful design documentation. This is the main lesson I have learnt through my 30 years carreer as a game designer and creative director This course teaches aspiring game designers and indie developers how to work through each phase of game development using the right processes and design documents at the right time. The focus is practical and production-oriented: how to structure ideas, reduce risk, and support development with clear, usable documentation. • In ideation, you will learn how to turn raw ideas into a focused game vision through concept documents that meet professionals' expectations. • In pre-production, you will learn how to develop two crucial documents: The game design document and the pitch deck. • In production, you will learn how to interact with the rest of the team and how to use playtests to refine and tune the game. • In the pre-launch phase, you will learn what is expected from a game designer. By the end of the course, you will know which design documents to create, when to create them, and how to use them as decision-making tools, giving you a clear and professional game-design workflow from concept to release. Every key production document is illustrated by examples, and the assignments will allow you to build an effective portfolio.
