This has raised many critical legal and regulatory issues related to the emerging crypto economy and its regulation and how that impacts the global growth. This course provides a comprehensive overview of the various law and regulations that apply to cryptocurrency in the United States. Its focus lies in: understanding the current government attitudes & definitions of cryptocurrency, cryptocurrency regulation at state and federal level, sales regulation, securities law, taxation, money transmission laws & anti-money laundering requirements, ownership & licensing requirements & mining of cryptocurrencies. The course covers U.S. CFTC and SEC regulations, federal banking regulations and state regulations. This course is relevant not just for students who are interested in the regulation of cryptocurrency and other digital assets but also for students who are interested in financial services regulation more generally and want to improve their knowledge This course is tailored for a diverse audience, including: Lawyers: Advising clients on cryptocurrency-related legal matters.
